NBR: Working from home interview... kinda vent

So I plan to be a SAHM for a while after K-monkey is born... but DH has been worrying about money(long story for another post LOL) But I've been researching working from home ideas and after another money arguement, I looked in the back of my American baby magazine and went to the WAH websites listed. One of them seems easy to do and pretty decent, so I requested some more information and got a call today.

Now I have one day to think of how to tell this lady that I don't want to do anything with this company...(I have issues with being mean to people who actually haven't done anything to piiss me off.)

So one of the deals for joining their company and referring people to sell their products is that you HAVE to join them as a preferred customer and buy a certain dollar amount of their products to use in your house so that you can "properly" refer people to their company. It's a good idea and all, but I have absolutely not intention of using or buying their products... and I am not trying to down the people who do use their products, they just aren't for me, I'm too cheap. LOL

At least with Avon, while you gotta delivery the products and have parties and what not, you don't have to use the product/forced to buy it.

I kinda told her that DH was skeptical about things like this and that I would talk to him about it. Anyone have any suggestions on what to tell her to decline? Or should I just tell her perhaps it's not for me and thank you very much for your time?

For anyone who is reading this and interested in the oppurtunity, more power to you, they are a eco-friendly company.

This is where I signed up.  This is their product website.

  • If you don't want to do it then be very firm in letting her know that you don't want to do it.  These people (no offense to anyone) are supposed to sell you a product and the ones getting you to sign up to sell make more money by signing you up so she's probably going to be persistent.  You need to stand your ground and don't give in.

    Good luck!

  • Go ahead and start off exactly how you mentioned..."thanks for your time but it just isn't for me..."  If they get persistent, repeat it and hang up.  It is polite enough but firm enough IMO....I know they get pushy sometimes and thats what the beauty of the phone is for!  :)  GL
