TTC After a Loss

For those of you who have tested oma special day...

Did you regret waiting/testing on a special day? AF is due tomorrow, and I was thinking about waiting to teat until Sunday- my DS's birthday- is AF hadn't arrived. I just don't know if a BFN would ruin the day, or if I got a BFP and lost the baby if I would forever associate DS's birthday with the loss. I got my second BFP on Christmas, and I hoping it won't be to much of a downer for us this year. Thanks for any thoughts.

Re: For those of you who have tested oma special day...

  • That is a really tough one. I don't even know what the right answer is to this...I got my BFPs (the last two) the day we went to friend's weddings. I still can't look at their pics on FB, because I just keep thinking "I was pregnant then." So I say...

Nay, I demand: A BFP with a sticky baby, so all of this is moot.

  • i haven't done this in the past, however, if my cycles are normal i should be about 10dpo on our wedding anniversary (dec. 2) so i think i may test if i'm not spotting by then.

i think this thanksgiving and xmas will be hard b/c we announced or pregnancy to our families on these days last year.  Sad  but maybe we'll have a bfp this xmas to share, crossing fingers!

  • I honestly don't remember the dates of my BFPs.  I get moer worked up about EDD.  My third loss was due the day after youngest DS birhday and  5 after DH's. Given the fact that my family "tends to go early" (just a few days), there is/was a good chance that it would have been born on DH's birthday (or possible my sister's which is 9/24).  I got really choked up about that one. It doesn't help that we know some one who has had a child on or near all of our due dates..except for the last loss and we know someone due close to that one.  I also tend to get sad on the dates I lost the babies.

I totally understand the EDD thing. I had a friend due the exact same day as my EDD with my first mc and that was so difficult for me and another firend is due two days after the EDD of my second mc. It is definitely a hard reminder.

  • This last cycle I first tested at 9dpo on my big edd.  Because I knew it was pretty early I didn't let myself get too upset.  Then a few days later was the day before my 30th b-day & the day of my party.  I tested then and on my b-day and got bfns, but I think all the excitement helped to make it not so bad.  GL!
