DH's step sister is pg after 2 rounds of IVF. When we found out they were pg I sent them a card congratulating them and telling them how happy we were for them etc. I never heard a word from her, not a thanks for the card nothing. It didn't totally bother me I just thought it was weird that we never heard anything from them.
Fast forward to her shower, we live on the west coast and they live on the east coast so we never see them, but our other SIL sent me an invite to her shower and while I couldn't go I did send a bunch of outfits, bibs, bowls, spoons, sippies, etc. I am very excited for them (especially because of their struggle with IF). Well the shower was in early Sept and I have never heard a peep from SIL, not a thank you card, not a FB message saying how much she liked the gifts, nothing! Our other SIL posted on my FB wall how cute all the gifts were etc and that would have been a perfect time for mom-to-be SIL to jump in and at least say thanks but no.
So I am totally irritated and don't understand why she wouldn't thank us or anything for the gifts, for thinking of her, etc. Thanks for letting me vent. That is twice in one day but I think I am done now :-).
Re: I am so irked with SIL!

SET November 9, 2014
Nov 23, 2014. Another BFN
Not sure where to go from here.
I know she received them only because other SIL wrote on my FB wall how cute all the gifts were etc. And I sent the to other SIL's house so that she could take them to the shower and I would know she got them. I am big on Thank You cards so I guess it is a huge deal to me.
I am more hurt that she didn't acknowledge the card I sent her because I wrote a long note to her and it was from my heart and I can't believe someone wouldn't acknowledge it. It wasn't just a congrats your KU, it was more in my eyes.

Yeah I have been reaching out to her since DH and I got married 7 yrs ago and have made no real headway. So I think I am going to stop trying. I get along fabulously with all the rest of DH's family and am very close with our other SIL so I guess I am going to go with she just doesn't like me and doesn't want us to be a part of their life.

Wow! Has she always had such poor manners? I'd probably call her directly or email and ask if she received the gifts, even though you know she has.
She sounds unbelievably rude!
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
That is so incredibly rude!
My SIL did send me a thank you card from her shower, but completely ignored the fact that I got her a really nice gift (a maternity massage and a bunch of clothes). Her thank you card consisted of "thank you for all the work on the food - K." and that was it; I was a little offended by that.
