My 1st HSG (2.75 yrs ago) was quite the process, probably 30 mins or so and VERY uncomfortable. It showed blockage of the left side, completely occluded.
This HSG (at another provider, one whom I don't trust very much so I'm skeptical) lasted all of 45 seconds and he said he saw no blockage but wants the Rad Specialist to read the image (single).
Thoughts? Can it really only be 45 seconds long? 1 image? Used only 8mL of contrast?
Re: Had HSG...
Once he had speculum-ed me and threaded the cath through it took less than a minute for me. Not sure how much contrast he used but it wasn't a huge amount. He stopped once he saw everything was clear. I was surprised that it was such a short time.
He didn't take only one image though.
Mine was a little longer, but my right tube was partially blocked.
BTW - I totally love your new siggy
Once he got the instruments set up and in, it was very very short. I watched it on a screen and he showed it was clear.
Cute siggy btw
