What helps your back pain?

It's absolutely killing me today. I had problems with a couple of bulging discs a few years ago that haven't bothered me in a LONG time but now my lower back, hips, and butt are hurting BAD. Took a hot bath and Tylenol which did nothing for me! Any suggestions?

Re: What helps your back pain?

  • It helps when my husband uses a tennis ball to massage my lower back.  Also, I wear one of those support belts from Motherhood.

  • Heat pack, tylenol, bed rest

  • i wear a pregnancy back brace. i got it at my local pharmacy. it helps somewhat, but also standing in the shower and letting hot water run over it feels good, too (if it's a muscular problem).
  • So those support belts really do help? I might have to pick one up. I still have 3 months left so this isn't gonna fly.

  • First off, your LO Mason is ADOREABLE! I love the monkey costume and he is just precious!

Second, I had killer back pain for a while, but I already had back problems before being pg. So I went to a chiropractor from about 24 weeks until a couple weeks ago. I stopped going because I had too many appts. going on and it was too much and my back has been much better since I went several times. At first, I went 3 weeks in a row, and then every other week.

Other than that, I would ask your DH to give you a really good back rub on days your back is really hurting. That's what I had to do in between the chiro visits and it would help for the night.

  • I second the chiro and massage!  Regular visits are seriously saving me from misery!
  • My chiropractor, and the occasional swedish massage.
  • Hot bath with epsom salt and lavender essential oil.

    Getting a professional massage.
