I had a "pre interview" on Tuesday for an Exec. Assistant position. She didn't indicate when any decision would be made for a real interview.
I realllly want this job. it's close to home, the pay is ok and it beats make ZERO like I am now.
Would it be bad/not in my favor to call? I'd say something along the lines of "I don't know if the decision for your final interviewees has been made, but I just wanted to say I was except at the prospect of being a part of your company".
Should I just leave well enough alone?
Re: Would it be stupid to call?
I don't have her email. She called me when I answered an employment ad through careerbuilder. sigh

Could you send a thank-you note in snail mail instead? You could send it out today or tomorrow, and it'd probably get there early next week. I think it's always good to send a thank-you, and you could show your excitement and interest in that. Good luck!

You sent a thank you note, right? Right? RIGHT? In the mail, on paper? Written w/ a pen?
I just called her, either I helped myself out or dug my own grave. haha, we''ll see!!!

If you don't have her email, then I think a call is fine. I'd just give it a day or two.
GL!!!
who is this pre-interview with? is the job a contact job, or did you speak directly with the company's HR?
i think calling today or tomorrow would be ok. the problem with calling tomorrow is they may say "oh we'll get back to you next week" and then you have to wait all weekend plus it may take an extra day or two. but it's your call, i don't think it would be bad form at all.
The pre interview was with the HR woman who I'd be re-interviewing with if I am chosen. i just called and if that is what makes them NOT want me, then so be it. Personally, I'd want an agressive go getter as an assistant, but maybe that's just me.
Thanks everyone for the feedback!!!
