As you can tell--I'm clueless about children LOL
I would imagine he'd try eating it right now--but I wondered--is it like 18-24 mos or so????
DS actually can't play with playdough b/c he's allergic to gluten but there is a different product that is available I was thinking of ordering for him for Christmas--but he'll be 18 mos--not sure if it's too young.

Re: When do they play with playdough??
Make some edible play dough and see how he does....personally I wouldn't use not edible play dough until at least 3.

FWIW, always make my own "playdough" too. It's easy, cheap, I know what's going in it and DD likes to help make it so it's an extra activity.
she has been playing with it since she was 12 months old. she tried to eat it once- and realized it was yucky. hasn't done it since.
we play with it every day
