So I work as an RN on a maternity floor and I was about half way through my shift yesterday, and I was filling a water pitcher for a patient. As I was walking towards the door there was some water on the floor that I didn't see, and BAM! I hit the floor...HARD! I tried to catch myself on my hands and knees, but the floor was now wet with my water pitcher too and my hands slipped out from under me, so I landed in what looked like some odd yoga pose with my nose about an inch from the floor, squishing my poor belly. So I filed an incident report, and off to Employee health I go.
The walk to Emp Health I felt some cramping and what I called major RLP, so I called my doc and they wanted me to go get monitored in L&D for awhile. I think poor DH almost needed some oxygen by the time he got there, he was so worried! We got to see the little wiggle worms on ultrasound, and I wasn't contracting on the monitor, nor did I have any bleeding. So, after 3 hours and a Rhogam shot, I was able to go home. Not how I planned on ending my day yesterday!
Re: Won myself a "trip" to L&D last night...
oh my! what a mess and what a fall for you :-(
I'm glad everything turned out a-ok!
