xp: preterm labor signs?

Good morning ladies! I discovered the preemie board and was hoping you could share your experiences with me in regards to signs of pre-term labor.

Here?s my situation...

The last few days I?ve been experiencing diarrhea (TMI SORRY!) along with mild menstrual-like cramps and a lot of bh contractions. I?ve seen a little bit of streaked with blood discharge (slowly losing my mucus plug?) and have a lot of pelvic pain (hurts to sit / walk). No temp or anything like that. Today, the stools seem to be back to normal, but everything else is still lingering around.

Almost all of the stories I?ve read about this during the third trimester were signs of the body getting prepared for labor. Some women said they had the loose stools, followed by loss of the mucus plug and then the labor...some of this all happening within a few days and some within a few weeks.

I find it odd for my body to be randomly experiencing these lovely episodes right now...but maybe it?s only natural, but I didn?t experience this with my first (however I was induced). I did feel like this before my losses, like my body was trying to expel everything or something.

Has anyone else experienced these as symptoms or signs that labor was soon to follow within the days or weeks?

  • Those could be signs, or it may be nothing.  I would call your doc and ask to been seen.

  • I agree - call your Dr.  It could be nothing, but it could be something and it's better to get it checked out because if it is PTL, the earlier they catch it the more they can do to stop it.  I had cramping and spotting at 30 weeks and delivered 2 1/2 weeks later.
