Anyone had a root canal?

This will be my first one and I'm not really sure what to expect.  How did you feel afterwards?  Did you go back to work?

    I was fine but after the novacaine wore off I was sore like a bruise but it was mild.

    Do you do ok with fillings? If so it should be no big deal. Just a long proceedure. MH doesn't take novacain well (never works), and has large roots, so it is not fun for him. GL! Hope it goes well!

    I haven't, but my DH had to have a couple recently.  His first one didn't bother him at all.  The second, though, hurt really bad.  The dentist said that the anatomy of that tooth was weird and his mouth wouldn't go numb.  I think the second one was a fluke-thing, though.

    With both of them, he resumed normal activities right away.  He wasn't working the days he had them, but we went shopping, ate lunch, etc.
