Luckily we had people bring us dinner for about a week and it was SO NICE. You will be starving! So if you have the space, I'd make a week's worth (unless people will be cooking for you!)
I planned on it but didn't make any. Instead I made a lot of crock pot dinners. I could throw all the stuff in when DD was asleep and forget about it. I also used those liners so I did't have alot of cleanup to do. Other then that, I just made simple things like spaghetti, hot dogs and mac & cheese...easy things like that.
i made 2 weeks worth of dinners. my parents also gave us restaurant gift cards, so it lasted us until i felt like cooking again. i started making them around 34 weeks, and made some every weekend.
Not enough. I only made a batch of chicken noodle soup and one other dish. My advice (especially if you will be like us and not have much family nearby to help) is to make as much as possible.

DD#2 lost in January 2012 at 23 weeks due to anhydramnios caused by a placental abruption
I didn't make any and it didn't seem to be a problem. My mother has been here since DS was born, and betweeen her, DH, and the ILs we always had dinner on the table, whether it was takeout or something easy to make. Last night I made dinner for the first time since DS was born.
I didn't, but really wish I had. Luckily my mom stayed with us for a week, and stocked us up for about another week. To be honest, I really didn't cook until my LO was around 4 or 5 weeks. I had a really rough recovery and was just so overwhelmed with the lack of sleep that it took me that long to get myself together. We ate lots of soup and sandwiches for a few weeks! If you can, make sure you plan for easy things to have for breakfast and lunch.
None. Thats what my SO is for. Honestly, I was surprised at how much free time I had while having a newborn, and I was making dinner with him when we got back from the hospital, we just dont eat it at the same time anymore.
I didn't make any, but my mom was here the first week we got home from the hospital and she made enough for this week. ?Best thing she could have ever done.?

none - people were asking ahead of time that when we had DD they would bring by food. i do wish we had something in the freezer tho for when the generosity stopped - or when i got tired of pasta.
best thing someone did - gift card for waiters on wheels - we ordered thai food
what you really need - snacks! string cheese, jello cups etc. you will find most night when you are up every two hours feeding you just want something in your stomach you can grab with one hand and shove in your mouth......
I didn't make any and it hasn't been a problem. My mom has been in and out the past 1.5 weeks since DD was born and makes dinner when she's here.
I really enjoy cooking and have made dinner 2-3 times since we've been home from the hospital. DH comes home and takes the kids so I can get into the kitchen to cook. It's made me feel normal and I've really enjoyed it!
I didn't make any. SIL, MIL and my mom brought over dinner for us the first few nights. We had enough leftovers for the first week. I really didn't see the need for frozen meals. DH did a great job of making food for me
I made a ton of stuff and it has really helped! (my dh doesnt cook much)
I started around 35 weeks and cooked myself silly for 2 weeks.I basically quadrulpled my dinners (ate 1, froze 3) and then made extra things for breakfasts/lunches.
I still have meals in my freezer.
The days my dh is home early I cook. The days he doesnt get home til 10ish I make something I froze. When she is cranky I can pop something in the oven/microwave to eat for lunch and I dont have to eat processed/fast food.
Some of the recipes are on my blog (in my signature below) I add new ones every couple days

We didn't make any. A friend brought over meals for a few days and DH took control of food since he was off work. We survived. If you're on your own I would certainly recommend making as many as you can.
Re: From 3rd Tri: How many freezer meals did you make?
I didn't make any but should have.

I made about 3 weeks worth of dinners, plus a few loaves of bread.
They were done roughly two weeks before my induction.
