PSA if you are a "foodie"

DH and I went to the Lonesome Dove in Ft. Worth last night for our anniversary. I was afraid I would be disappointed because the bar was set pretty high with Zagat rating it the best in DFW and Tim Love's recent fame.

If anything it exceeded my expectations. The food was amazing and the service and pace were perfect. Even the salad was incredible (pepitas, jalapenos, bacon lardoons, yum).

We had bacon wrapped figs and gaujillo shrimp with little grit cakes for an appetizer. DH had the Red Deer Chop and Elk sausage and I had the halibut. The bread pudding was the most delicious thing I have ever tasted and the ancho chocolate cake was really, really good.

We finished the meal with a shot of tequila :)

Sorry to sound like a restaurant critic, but I could not keep this place to myself.

After, we stopped by Billy Bob's where we first met and both used to work many, many moons ago. I recommend BBT too ;P

    I love good food!!! A friend of ours talks so highly of Lonesome Dove. We are dying to go there but just haven't made it over there.

    happy anniversary! :) I love good food but not sure if we'll ever head out to Ft Worth, even for a special occasion...DH is always so busy.  but I'll have to keep it in mind just in case!
