I have been to Dr. Fricker and Dr. Pulliam at Kid Care and while they are fine, we switched because the nursing staff/scheduling staff are the biggest bunch of moronic b!tches I have ever had to deal with.
Cooks is not taking any new patients. (I tried, lol)
We chose a different Dr in Southlake and have not been to him yet so I won't throw his name out there.
I'm new here and no baby yet, but my friend also had major issues with Kid Care. She got wrong test results, appointments were a mess... She said STAY AWAY!! My GP is at Southlake Family Medicine and they have a hopping pediatrician's office there. I obviously can't attest to their skill, but I love my GP. southlakefamilymedicine.com

Well if you haven't signed up as a new patient you might be screwed. Have you already met with them and signed up as a new patient? At 38 weeks I would hope you had already signed up with them, KWIM?

There is not really a "signing up" procedure. When I called previously wanting to establish services with Dr. Garza they said I just needed to call them the day I was being discharged from the hospital to set up an appt to be seen 24/48 hours later.
I called yesterday to make sure I was given the correct information and they said they do not need anything from me beforehand,. *phew* ...your post had me worried.
Also FYI to anyone who may want to use this Cook Children's group...They ARE still accepting new patients- NB's only though. And, Dr. Garza was just put on bed rest for her own pregnancy.
We go to Dr Garza at Cook's & really like her too. We've also seen Dr Mangham there when Dr Garza was unavailable & I liked her a lot too.
They told me the same thing when I called before DS was born....that I just had to call the office after I was home to set up an appt for them to see DS. (Garza did tell me later that she would've seen him at the hospital if I'd notified them she was our pedi b/c she was there the day he was born, but that's not what I was told by the staff before I had DS, so I didn't know to do that.)
