How is everything going? Have the meds helped anything yet? I hope you are able to start getting some sleep. I am excited that it looks like we can both make it to the GTG in a few weeks.
The meds have helped a bit- she seems much more comforable between feedings now- not the constant screaming. Unfortunately she has to be upright at all times so I'm "sleeping" in the glider with her in my arms between nighttime feedings. It's better than it was before (I think I'm getting used to it) and we also ordered a Tucker sling and wedge that should arrive very soon which should also help a lot. My mom and aunt have also been taking turns coming over in the morning to give me an hour or two to take a nap or get stuff done, and it's been an incredible help. She did gain some weight at the last appointment which is awesome because it means she doesn't have to get a feeding tube or anything at this point. (Phew!) We are going back to the pediatrician on Friday, so it's a week by week thing.
How are you adjusting? Is Alexis getting lots of sleep? Are you getting any sleep? Are you recovering from your C-section? How is it going in general?
I am also excited that we can both make it! I can't wait to catch up! (And get out of the house for a couple of hours with people who understand!)
I am so glad to hear that! Yay for no feeding tube. That would be hard to see. How sweet that you are getting help. Keep us updated on her progress. I have been thinking of you guys a lot.
I am adjusting well. I actually healed pretty quickly from the surgery. The nurses were surprised at how fast I was moving and that I didn't really take to many pain meds.
She sleeps good one night like 3.5 hours than the next night she is up every 2 hours. We started giving her something for gas so that has helped a bit. I started carrying her in the moby wrap and she loves sleeping on me so this as helped me gets things done around the house. This week is more stressful but it is b/c my mom took the week off and Ryan went back to work so she was over helping. She BROKE my dryer!! She is having someone come repair it tomorrow but it is annoying anyways b/c it was totally preventable. She decided to clean my lint trap like way inside the dryer which I normally just vaccuum out every so often. Nope she decided to scoop it out with a spoon and dropped the spoon! It has to be totally taken apart!! So mad.
Well if you ever want to get out I can meet you at somerset and we can walk the babies and window shop. i am hoping during the week and mid day there will be less people and no one tries to touch the babies!
I can't believe she broke your dryer! That's terrible!!! I'm sorry you are having a rough week. The first week Scot went back was really hard. It does get a little easier though! I'm glad Alexis is doing some sleeping! I've been working with Aurelia in the moby wrap. Sometimes she loves it, and sometimes she hates it. I wish she always loved it so that I could get some stuff done too! I'm so glad you are healing well! When you are back to 100% and the girls get clearance to go out in public (our pediatrician told me not until 10 weeks or so due to the flu- what does yours say?) I am absolutely in to do some window shopping! I would love to go to the mall, I forget what shopping feels like!
I am taking her out next week to the mall. I can't sit here all day. They just said to go during the day and not during a busy time. I just don't plan on allowing anyone to touch/hold her.
I am getting the flu shot friday so once it is in my system I won't worry about getting it either and passing it on to her. I get the H1N1 in a couple weeks.
