Baby Names

Is Mae Ann too hard to say?

I really like both and they're both family names. I'm thinking about using it as a middle name but DH likes it as a first name....

Re: Is Mae Ann too hard to say?

  • It could be a mouth-full for some. I don't mind it.

  • It might be.  I really like both of those names a lot though...very cute!

  • I don't like it... what about Annie Mae?  That's a little easier on the lips.

  • It doesn't flow, but how many times do you say them together?

I usually see Mae as a middle name, I assume its because it is strong pronunciation.

  • yes, doesn't seem to go together

That sounds like Fannie Mae (mortgages) or Fanny May (candy).

  • Sorry...I tried it out a few times and yes - it's too tough to say together like that.

When I say it fast - as if I was calling her from across the playground - it sounds like the noise I make when I'm whining to my DH about something.

Instead of just saying 'man!' I say maaaaeeeeaaaaaan!

I love the name "Mae". It might be better used as a middle name.
