The 'best memory of DH' post made me think of this question.
My H was annoying. I mean, he was really supportive, but when I was pushing he wouldn't STFU!!! He kept telling me to push, I'm doing great, just a little more, etc. But I'm not kidding, I don't know how he could keep talking without breathing between words.
I love him to death for being so supportive, but between pushed I told him he was talking too much and needed to cut back. He apologized and said he's obviously never done it before and didn't know what to do so he was trying to be as encouraging as possible. I explained that I appreciated it but needed to focus.
Re: How was your SO during your labor and delivery?
He just held his breath everytime I had a contraction. He was totally overwhelmed that he couldn't do anything to really "help".
I also want to say I kept hearing ESPN through the speakers in my bed, but I could have hallucinated that. LOL

I honestly don't even remember DH saying more than a few words during labor/delivery, even though I know he was by my side almost the entire time.
Before the epi, when my contractions were coming ever 2 minutes for 12 hours straight, I kept telling him I couldn't do it between sobs. He very calmly repeated, "yes you can....you have to." Lol.
Other than that, I don't remember a single word being uttered from his mouth.
He was totally stressed out, but awesome. After we lost the baby's heartbeat for a minute after I got the epi, I thought he was going to pass out. My MW had to tell him to take a break. Poor guy.
I told him the other day that I am going to try to have a natural birth again, and he said, "Then someone else is going in there with you!" lol
Then he held my leg for almost 3 hours while I pushed.
While we were in the hospital he was pretty annoying because he kept going to get the 'awesome cafeteria food' and I couldn't eat anything. Also he snores so that kept me up at night.
But during the actual pushing he was super supportive and encouraging. Of course he also felt he had to be mr. comedy and make the dr and nurses laugh
DH was wonderful. He did everything I wanted him to do. And while I was in labor and the Packers (my fav team) were losing to the Vikings (his fav team)... he didn't even say anything about it.
He did great the whole hospital stay. He only left the hospital once during the four days (to go get more clothes) and then my sister was with me.
