It could be a mouth-full for some. I don't mind it.
It doesn't flow, but how many times do you say them together?
I usually see Mae as a middle name, I assume its because it is strong pronunciation.

Sorry...I tried it out a few times and yes - it's too tough to say together like that.
When I say it fast - as if I was calling her from across the playground - it sounds like the noise I make when I'm whining to my DH about something.
Instead of just saying 'man!' I say maaaaeeeeaaaaaan!
I love the name "Mae". It might be better used as a middle name.
I think it runs together and starts sounding like megan.
