Opinion on Sookie Stackhouse

After reading everyone's fav books in my RQOTD post this AM, a lot of you said you liked this series very much.

I have been looking to get into some serious reading lately and B&N is offering a deal $37.38 for the 8 volume set of this series.

Good deal? Will I enjoy? Or should I buy them 1 at a time?

That's definitely a great deal (less than $5 per book!), but you can also see if your local library has them - if you happened to not like them, you'd be stuck with all 8...

Definitely a good deal- Borders sells them for $7.99 each. If you are patient, I would also suggest the library option. I bought them one at a time. But I think they're great quick reads, and TrueBlood follows the storylines pretty closely.

I have only read the first book and I really didn't care for it. I really like the show but the book didn't do it for me. Which is strange because usually as a rule the book is better than the movie/show.

I would probablly buy them one at a time

thanks for the tip but I hate LTD, they seem to take forever to ship and charge an arm and leg for shipping. B&N has free shipping right now.

i have them all and loved them. i bought them at Borders during a sale for buy 2 get 1 free, but it sounds like you have a pretty good deal. i would go for it. i think they are much better than the show and really quick reads.

really? I've never had a problem with them. That's a good price for the 8 box set though, I've heard the books are great though, enjoy!

np. I'm liking it but not as much as I want to be liking it. The fact that DH sits there going "you can't tell me this is funny" doesn't help, either. In all honesty, if it was anybody besides Joel McHale I would have given up by now. What do you think of it?

I was starting to give up on it as well but then last week's Halloween episode cracked me right up. I loved that "Batman" kept talking like Christian Bale and I pph Chevy Chase. I heard that Anthony Michael Hall is going to make a guest appearance in the Christmas episode. That should be funny!

That's not a bad deal. My neighbor and I split purchasing the series. I agree with others, you could definitely do the library route, though I re-read them a lot, so I'm glad we purchased them.

I'm also a big Joel McHale fan! We've liked Community - I feel like it's getting funnier as it goes on. And yes, Abed as Batman absolutely KILLED me!
