DS's Crane penguin broke yesterday - just stopped working. DH loves the cute animal ones and wants another Crane even though it broke, but before I buy one, wanted to see if there was anything way better out there.

I'm interested too. We had one of those Crane cows but I don't think it really did that great of a job. So we used a 'regular' one - don't know the brand but I swear every other day I have to clean it or DS' room smells like a wet dog (I guess from bacteria/mold growing gross).

We have this one, it works great for us. It's from red cross. They sell it at Target.

We have this one and it works great. I was lucky enough to find it on clearance at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $10 plus my 20% off coupon! It's just called the Sesame Street Humidifier (I just googled it).

I use the Vicks one just w/o putting the Vicks vapor liquid in it. I like it b/c it doesn't soak everything.

We use a Vick's Warm Mist from CVS. I swear it's the exact same model I had as a kid with the addition of a nightlight. Works great. Cheap. And you can add menthol if you ever need to.
