My husband and I have only been married a little over two months, and I think that I might be pregnant. We had planned to wait a few years, so this is kind of shocking, but... I'm no longer on birth control, and since the wedding, we haven't exactly been what you would call "safe" However, I also think that I might be psyching myself out a little... can I get some advice?
Why did I decide to take a pregnancy test in the first place? I started experiencing sharp pains in my ovaries midway through my period -- I figured, ok, I'm just ovulating. However, it's lasted over two weeks, now... and, within the past week, I've started experiencing nausea and dizziness on a regular basis (especially after lunch time), aching lower back pain, and my nipples have become so sore, I can hardly stand to put a bra on (this is the one, most specifically, that makes me think I might be pregnant). These are not normal PMS symptoms for me, and, although I've experienced large ovarian cysts in the past, what I'm going through now is completely different than what I felt then.
***I have taken 3 regular pregnancy tests and 1 digital test within the past week. I am not expecting my period until next Monday, so I'm not sure why I even decided to take the tests to begin with (I guess I just couldn't stand not doing SOMETHING!), and I wasn't expecting to see anything conclusive on any of the tests, but...
On all three of the regular pregnancy tests, a thin, blue horizontal line appeared in the positive circle almost immediately... within a minute, for sure. However, on the digital test, it said "not pregnant".
Is it possible that the regular pregnancy tests are a little more sensitive than the digital one? Could I be pregnant???
I know that it would be the smartest thing to just wait and test again next week, but... I'm going crazy here, and I wanted to see if anyone had a similar experience to share.
I will be happy either way, but... I would love to hear any advice/stories : )
Re: Strange pregnancy test results... advice/stories?
I'm pretty sure the digital tests are weaker than the regular ones. I tried to use digital tests once and I got an error message (think **TILT**) both times ... so I said the heck with those.
I would trust the regular test and just test again once you are truly "late." Congrats and good luck.
This question would probably be better suited for First tri.
Im sorry, I have no advice/stories to tell. I get sore boobs randomly throughout my cycle.
Wait a few days, test again. But a line is a line.
Edit: Just reread- and forgot to say that blue dye tests arent always the best to use. Try pink dye and see what happens.

I have to admit - I only skimmed that - it's really long. Digital tests are less sensitive than line tests. However, blue line tests have been known to produce false positives.
My advice is to wait a week and test again with pink line tests. You may also want to visit 1st Tri for stories. The girls there are all pregnant. Most of the girls here are not.
All of this.
She's not.

There are so many things wrong with this post I don't even know where to start...but I will give it a (brief) shot:
-If you don't want to get pregnant for a couple of years, why on earth are you not using birth control?
-You generally do not ovulate midway through your period.
-Please read the test instructions. For most tests one line means not pregnant.
She's not - her period's not due until next week.
I'm pretty sure you didn't ovulate during your period.
Totally missed that in the wall 'o text! LOL
Haha - missed that gem too. See what happens when I skim??
This is a great question. Obviously if you are not preventing, this kind of thing can happen. That's how my BIL ended up with a kid.
lol might be time for a speed reading class
Haha. I missed that too. Along with the fact that she thinks she ovulated mid period.
I need to just get out of this post.

That was a long way to "Could I Be Pregnant". Sorry didn't read it all.
That said, while we cannot tell you if you are pregnant, I advise you wait a week, test again,. Wait another week, test again, rinse and repeat until AF shows or the test is postive.
And, go buy the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility.
GL to you
I started experiencing sharp pains in my ovaries midway through my period
Huh? Get the book I recommended. Stat.
On all three of the regular pregnancy tests, a thin, blue horizontal line appeared in the positive circle almost immediately.
How did I miss this? Did you read the instructions??
Then she's an idiot! I raise my case.. next one!
My BFP Chart
I am just in denial.
This post is neat.
About the tests, I've been looking into it because I'm late and haven't had any luck with a BFP, and according to the research most tests have about the same sensitivity to hCG. A test done by the University if NM found the most sensitive test was First Response Early Result, but the study was a while ago. I'm not the most patient person either, but I think that's all it really takes-patience. I'm not going to test again for a few more days and I suggest you wait until you're late. I've probably tested early for the past 3 months and in in the end it's just a waste of money.
I don't know how long you've been off the pill, but as soon as I went off I had pregnancy symptoms right up until my first period off the pill. My breasts were sore and tender and I bloated so bad my pants didn't fit. Also, in the cycles following that I had painful ovulation cramps and then cramped right up until AF showed up. This is my first cycle I didn't have any cramping.
I'm new to the boards too- I've only been trying to conceive since July. I've posted a few times, just really wanting advice or to hear other peoples stories and it's been a mixed bag. Don't be surprised if you get some snarky comments from the ladies who have been on here a while- don't take it personally at least.
