sleepy baby won't wake up for feeds

Should I be concerned about this?  He is EBF and fed at 9 pm and then I woke him up at 1 am and he only would take one breast, but fell asleep and would not wake up for the other boob.  Then he fed from both at 4 am and both at 6 am.  Now it's 9 am (i'm in australia) and he is still is sleeping! Is something wrong? Am I being way too overly concerned?

    It's normal, but at this stage you are supposed to wake them every 3 hrs or so to eat.  NBs are super sleepy!

    newborns often don"t wake for feedings. Until my son returned to birthweight, the doctor told me I had to wake him every 2-3 hours feed. Basically I had to torture him to keep him awake (stripping him down to diaper, picking him up several times during a feeding, massaging him to keep him awake, and if all else failed... a cold washcloth on his back). Luckily, he was back to birthweight by 10 days.

     Basically, not eating makes them lethargic, so they sleep more & then they don't eat, because they are sleeping, which makes them more sleepy... vicious cycle. Now he wakes on his own to make sure I feed him every 3-4 hours.

    DS was slightly jaundiced when we left the hospital. Apparently the jaundice makes them even more sleepy, but the more milk you can get into them, the faster they get over it. So we have an extremely sleepy, jaundiced baby that would sleep for 6 hours straight if I let her. DH is on vacay for 2 weeks since she was born and he's there at every feeding with me. We're EPing because of her sleepy latch issues, but DH always burps her before she gets the bottle and I pump while watching her feed. I swear it helps me get more milk!

    The cold cloth seems like torture to me and our LC even did it once while we were trying to teach her to latch. That was the first and last for me. She screached and all I could do was cry :P We like stripping down to the diaper and blowing on her skin.
