What words do you use for private parts?

My boss was telling me a story today and he said something about how his son calls his penis a "ding ding." Got me thinking about what to call that particular piece of anatomy in front of my son when he is old enough to understand. When I was little, my parents used the words penis and vagina, but my dad is a doctor and a stickler for appropriate terminology.

Generically, "bottom" or "bits and pieces". But specifically, vulva (that is the external part you see not the vag itself).

Penis and Vagina. Although I don't mention the vag very often because my son doesn't usually forget anything. He even knows about his scrotum and when he says, "Ouch, I hit my scrotum" (Or whatever) I have to try not to laugh. But, my mom is a nurse and I grew up using the correct terminology so I guess we passed it on to the kids:)
