I voted about equal. But, our company gives raises based on potential and my potential is higher than my DHs. So, even though he has been with the company a year longer I will surpass his salary with my upcoming raise.
Since my husband hasn't worked in 3 years the answer is very much me Me ME. However, even before he fell ill in 2006, I was making about $20K/year more than him. By the time he finds a job my income will probably be close to double his. I had always thought I didn't care how much my DH made and I was an independent woman and blah, blah, blah. But now I understand that the reality of marrying a "Blue Collar Joe" is that there is NO WAY I could ever be a SAHM for even just a year or two. Don't get me wrong, I love my DH and all but as a woman in my early twenties it literally never crossed my mind that I would even *want* to stay home for any lenght of time, ever. My how time can change us!
DH is a lawyer working at a prestigious urban law firm and I'm a nurse. Guess who makes more money and alway will? I am about to receive my master's and work as a nurse practitioner, but I don't think I'll have his earning power. Fortunately, it's not an issue for either of us.

We have this going on too. I have been supporting us through DH's residency but as soon as he's done, the bread will drastically shift.
