FFTC - although you should probably flame me

My mom usually comes in the morning at 6:30 am. My husband usually doesn't leave for work until 6:45 am. I usually don't get up with Natalie in the morning because of this. This morning Natalie was crying and crying and crying and crying. She was getting extremely upset so I went in to see what was going on. She was just laying in her crib crying her little heart out. I grabbed her and realized that my mom hadn't got here yet and my husband had left for work early. I felt like a horrible mommy. My poor baby probably layed in her crib crying for 10 minutes because I wouldn't get up.

On a similar note, I don't understand how people can let their little babies CIO. I wanted to cry when I realized I was just letting her cry. Not only that but Natalie just got more and more worked up the longer she cried.

  • Aw that's sad!  I don't get the CIO either, I can't leave my mom alone with DS because she always thinks he should just cry and it really bugs me.

  • My DH puts her down and lets her cry sometimes when he gets stressed out.  I cant stand it.  I hope we dont have to cio.

  • I can't stand letting LO CIO, but when I put him down at night he wakes up not long after I lay him down and I'd be up all night rocking him if I didn't let him CIO.  It doesn't matter if he was sound asleep on me, he still wakes up.   We let him CIO for a little and he usually falls back to sleep on his own.  If it goes longer than I'm comfortable with, I go and rock him back to sleep.

  • Aw. Don't feel too guilty, though, ten minutes really isn't that long.
