HELP! Napping issues

Bri has usually been a good napper until lately. For the past 3 weeks I can't lay her down for a nap unless I lay next to her on my bed. She freaks out if I put her in the crib for  a nap but is completely fine with it at night.

So now, I lay here on my bed with a half asleep child who just holds on to my arm.

Anyone else have a super clingy baby? If i'm not holding her and she sees me, she cries. If I just set her down to play with toys she will turn and look to make sure I'm still there every few seconds.

I have baby carriers but she will just have a meltdown if she's overly tired and not laying down somewhere quiet.

Re: HELP! Napping issues

  • J has always been a horrible napper.  He usually doesn't nap unless I nurse him down.

  • I have the opposite issue. Quinn is fine during naps but needs to sleep with me at night. Sigh... These babies!

  • Seperation anxiety has hit us HARD this week! She will only sleep during the day if I hold her in the rocking chair...she can be completly passed out on me and the minute I put her in the crib she is WIDE awake!

I also cant leave the room when shes playing...she even starts crying the minute I put her down (she will stop as soon as she realizes Im going to sit with her)

sorry im not more help...just wanted to tell you youre not alone!!

  • I know this is a touchy subject, but can you put lo in crib and cio for just a bit?  I had similar issues with naps until a tried this (was always opposed), and my lo is now a superstar.  I allowed crying for 15minutes to start (I was a wreck).  Now, if he cries, it is for two minutes or so.  I guess you have probably heard this before, but, it worked for us.
