Flu Shot

I am a patient at VA Physicians for Women and my doctor told me that I HAVE to get the flu shot.  I have read different things about getting the flu shot while pregnant, some positive and some negative.  I know that there are risk factors, but not sure exactly what they are.  Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of getting the flu shot while pregnant?  It also doesn't help that I hate needles/shots, but I am still trying to be informed before making the decision of whether or not to get it.

    I am in my 1st trimester and got the seasonal flu shot a week ago. No side effects for me and I have an ultrasound this Friday. All doctors say it is safe to get both seasonal and H1N1 shot ( and that we should ). H1N1 isn't available to my knowledge yet in my area. Good Luck!
