Our state's EI has a sliding scale for payment for services. Our
share is going to be $350 for the next 6 months. Does anyone know if I
can use money from my health care flexible spending account (through my
employer)?
you would have to check with your employer's plan to be 100% positive, but you should be able to use it. it's a valid, deductible medical expense, so it shoudl be available from an FSA.
I would think so. We're using our FSA to pay for my kids' PT and SLT. We're going to a private clinic that bills our insurance, and we're using our FSA to pay our deductibles. It's probably a good idea to check with your employer, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to.
call your acct manager/HR person to be sure, but I can. I called to check before enrolling in ours and they said yes. It's essentially a co-pay, which is covered.
I wasn't sure if it would be considered a premium (not covered) or co-pay. But they said it was good.
You might also try submitting it for reimbursement to your insurance company (not sure if you checked this already). We are planning to try - our EI coordinator said that this sometimes works.
