Could you tell me what your experiences were like? How long after you went in to the hospital did you give birth? Did they need to break your water and if so does it hurt?
I am kind of nervous not knowing what to expect, so any and all accounts will be helpful!
TIA
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.

Re: Questions for those who have been induced
I was induced at 38w due to pre-e. They started the induction on Friday 6am'ish and he was born at 1:18AM on Saturday. My water broke on it's own about 1/2 way into the induction.
The induction itself wasn't that bad....and if my epidural had worked none of it would have been bad
I had a very good induction. Went in at 3:30 am, started pitocin at 4:30 am, water broke around 6:30 am I think. Didn't hurt at all, just pressure (but not like when they say things that really hurt are "pressure" - having my water broken was less discomfort than a pap smear, ET, stripping membranes, internal exam, et cetera. Contractions got bad enough that I asked for epidural around 9 am, but I don't think it was in place till 10:30 or 11 (they had trouble getting it in the right place the first time and had to call someone else in to redo it). Slept on and off from then until around 1:30, around 1:45 I said I might have felt some pressure, and they could see the head. Started pushing a little before 2 pm and he was born at 2:17 (I pushed for a very short time - not the norm I don't think).
We had a couple scares with heart decels that turned out to be his cord wrapped around his neck, but he was totally fine once out, held him right away and he was never away from me other than for hearing/vision tests and things like that after we'd been moved to the post partum room.
I started with the gel on Wednesday. First at noon & then at 8pm. Labor was really starting around 8pm and they considered not sending me home that night but they did. Thursday I spent most of the day on Pitocin with very little progress. So Thursday night they did Cervidal. That worked & Friday morning they broke my water (didn't hurt) and started the Pitocin again. I had the first baby at 7:25pm & the second at 9:26pm. They had to up the Pitocin again between babies.
I think my induction went less than stellar but I know there are plenty of women whom it just kicks right off and things go wonderfully. For me, at least it seemed that the Pitocin just didn't work the cervical gels & Cervidal really helped the most.
Good luck! It will be over faster than you know and you'll be holding your LO.
I had a great induction! I went in at 4pm on Wednesday to have cervidil placed. That got placed at 10pm. At 9am, I was moved to L & D, checked (I was still only 1cm dilated), and they started the pitocin. I was having contractions at this point. At 1pm, my doc checked me again and I was only 1.5cm. She broke my water, which didn't hurt at all. The contractions immediately started getting very strong and I got an epi. Then I took a 2 hour nap!
Around 4pm I started to feel pressure and wondered if my epi was wearing off. Turns out that I was fully dilated and ready to push. They got everything set up, I started pushing around 5 and he was born at 5:25.
It was really a great experience and I hope yours is too!
I was scheduled for an induction 1 week after my due date. The day before that, though, my water broke on its own. However, my contractions were still VERY mild and not increasing, so they put me on pitocin.
I can't remember the exact time line,t hough. water broke at 3:50 am, at the hospital by 5. I want to say they started the pitocin around 6:30.
Contractions absolutely increased and got stronger, so I got an epi.
Long story short, gave birth at 3:59 pm.

My water actually broke on it's own but I wasn't going into labor. I had 2 rounds of cervadil, no pitocin. Nothing really hurt besides the few times that they checked me. I ended up having him 29 hours after my water broke and 1 1/2 hours of pushing. Oh and your water breaking doesn't hurt at all!
Yes, it was exhausting and quite the roller coaster but man, it's an unreal experience! GL!
I went in and had my water broke at 40w6d. I had been dilated to 6 on my own...but wasn't in active labour.
They gave me 2mili of pitocin.
Went for a short walk, came back, laboured for one hour, and gave birth after one loooonnnnngggg push.
Couldn't have imagined a better experience really.
Good luck!

My induction started at 41w1d, when my cervix was less than a fingertip dilated. They inserted Cervidil on a Tuesday at 4:30 pm and sent me home for the night. In the morning I had still made no progress, so they sent me home again. On Wednesday at 6:30 pm I was dilated just enough that the doctor could break my water (hurt a little but not too bad) and they started Pitocin by IV. My contractions were three minutes apart almost from the beginning. The nurses steadily increased my dose, but six hours later I was only 4 cm dilated. At that point I got the epidural. About seven hours after that, on Thursday at 7:30 am, I was at 10 cm and ready to push.
In all, it took 42 hours, but nothing much was happening for more than half of that time. From the time they broke my water and contractions started until the birth was about 16 hours.
Overall, although long, it was a fairly smooth process.
I had cervidil 12 hours before the induction started. We started the induction at 9 am. I had some mild cramps but thats it. My Dr broke my water at 12pm. We scheduled epi for 1pm even though I had no pain yet. By 1pm I was more than ready. Breaking the water didn't hurt. The contractions that followed did! At 5pm we started pushing and 6pm the little guy arrived!
Good luck and congrats!
I was induced and loved it! I went in at 7am, started pitocin at 8am and had regular (ever 2-3 minutes) contractions that felt like bh for the next 12 hours. Didn't progress didn't do nothing.
Then at 8:30pm on it's own my water broke and I went from a 3-10 in under two hours and pushed for 12 minutes, my ds was born at 10:39.
Those first 12 hours were a pain and annoying because I was afraid of a c-section but thankfully my body did was it was suppose to!
Are you being induced soon? I hope you can hold out!
I got my induction date scheduled for December 8th. I will be 37 weeks to the day. Just as soon as she gave me the date, it is all I can think about and all this excitement turned to fear of the laboring process!

I was induced right at 40w. I went in with very little progress, so I figured it'd take some time. Overall, it took 16 hours. They broke my water right when I got there at 6am and nope, it didn't hurt.
Good luck!
