  • Could you change your clothes first?

  • No, you stink!

    or

    No, you stanky!

    both work.
  • "Sorry, but she's really sensitive to smoke. I'm sure you understand."
  • FIL smokes and we made it clear with Colbi that we wouldn't be allowing people who smoked to hold her. If they wanted to change into clean clothing they would be more than welcome to hold her but we still wanted them to keep a blanket between the two of them.

When Bri was born he asked if I still had that 'stupid rule' and I just said yes.

LOL, I never noticed that your kids names are Colbi and Bri!! Do you call them your "little cheeses"? So cute!

They're my cheese babies lol. I didn't even make the connection when we named her Aubri. We just call her Bri and my friend pointed it out. He calls Colbi, Colby Jack or cheddar lol. He always tells me I need more children to name after cheeses.

  • My in-laws have a really funky stink to them, every time they hold Kaitlyn she smells like them.  Sad
  • I grew up in a family of smokers - with the exception of my dad - so I am probably a little more "lenient" about this. Thankfully my mom quit when I got pg with DS, but my aunt and uncle still smoke. Both smoke outside and do not reek and they are very good about washing their hands before they hold him. So, I guess what I am saying is I let them and I don't make an issue out of it...they love me, they love him  and (flame away) I truly do not believe that his limited exposure to them will be a problem. If he was sensitive to smells, had allergies, asthma etc. that would be a different story.

  • My sister, sister-in-law and brother-in-law all smoke like chimneys.  If they smell of smoke and ask to hold Abby I say this, "No, you smell like smoke."  Short and to the point.
