Is it really bad that DH and I haven't done a single tour yet? We were going to go last Thursday, but we didn't have time to, and so we were going to go this week, but DH doesn't get a single day off until next Tues, which is the day we're leaving at 7am to go to PA for a week, and when we get back he won't have another day off until like Thanksgiving Day... So the next oppurtunity we'll have isn't until I'm 33 weeks... Is that super late?
I know we should've done it sooner, but it just didn't work out with DH's schedule, and he'd be heartbroken if I went without him. He hates it when he misses just my regular monthly appointments. We know which two we are going to choose from, but we just haven't been to see them or talk to anyone yet.

We have our 8 hour hospital Prepared Childbirth class/tour this Sat, so I'll be almost 31 weeks. The hospital said that we could do it no later than the end of our 7th month (but they only do the class once a month).
Well the closer hospital is the one that my SIL had her baby in, its only about 10 minutes away, and its pretty nice, but my doc said she liked the one that's 20 minutes away. We wanted to go look at the one we've never been to, and if we like it better we'll go there, but either one would work as far as we know.
I don't know anything about visiting hours or privacy or anything for either one, but I can always ask my SIL since it was only a year ago that she had her baby. And the only that's farther away only does tours on Sunday and DH can't get Sundays off, so I called about getting a private tour, and I never got a call back :-/
But that makes me feel better that I probably won't be the farthest one along before we register at a hospital!
When I delivered DS, it was "slow" enough that all of the moms had private rooms, even though they are all 2-person rooms. When I had DD, every single room was packed with 2 people in a room. It really wasn't that bad; there was already someone in the room when I was brought up after delivery. She and I both had our LO's in the room. She was discharged after my first day, so I was alone the 2nd day. Unless you and your roommate deliver at the same time, you'll probably have at least a day to yourself.
Yes, and I'm preparing myself mentally if something like this happens and its impossible for us to get a private room, there won't really be much we can do about it. It would just mean so much more to DH and I if we had our own room. DH and I are kinda private with our emotions sometimes, we like to do things together and get more enjoyment out of things we do alone usually. Not that we don't like being around other people, but we're so goofy and have so many inside jokes and expressions that having someone completely from the outside would think we should be committed!
