all you britax mamas

i know lots of you *love* your britax seats, and i'm ready to start shopping. we're about to move DD up to a convertible. she's getting too long for her infant seat.

how well do those big ole' convertible britax seats fit in the center of a sedan-sized car? it looks to me like there won't be room for another passenger if we install in the center.

tia!

  • If you're worried about space, go with the Roundabout. Britax now makes a Roundabout 50 (which I just bought) ... which is the same size as the original Roundabout, but will work for up to 50 lbs. I know you can get it at Target or BRU for $199.  Ours worked GREAT in my old Civic, and there was still plenty of room back there  :)

  • I have an Altima and a Roundabout - it's installed in the center and people can fit, but they won't want to go on a road trip or anything with me.  It's fine though for around town driving if no one else can drive - I can have the carseat in the middle and fit 2 more people in the back seat.
  • we've put a Marathon in DH's backseat of his truck, which is smaller than a sedan back seat, and it worked just fine - forward facing and front facing. we haven't tried our Blvd just yet in it, but it's smaller than the Marathon - both go up to 65 lbs.
  • We have a Roundabout in our smaller vehicle and it fits ok. Like pp said, not many people would want to road tip with it back there. We went to BRU and they let us take the one off the shelf to see if it would fit in the car before we bought one.
  • thanks, all! i always get great help from the women on this board :)
