We just got C a Mega Block dump truck for Christmas, and that will probably be all he'll get (besides a few small stocking stuffer type stuff-his bday is just 3 weeks before Cmas). Anything else that's cool out there you want to share?
DD is getting her first dollhouse I think. We're only getting her a couple of things because her aunts, uncles and grandparents shower her with too much stuff.
We will do Hannukah this year, one present each night, 7 small gifts. There are 8 nights, but for one night instead of gifts DH and I have a tradition of buying toys as our gift to the other, and donating them to toys for tots. We have so much fun picking out the toys and it's my favorite gift of the holiday each year. We're planning on continuing the tradition with DD. She'll grow up with 8 nights of Hannukah but one night will be to give gifts to less fortunate kids. :-)
We went a little crazy this year because I buy all the gifts for him and sell them to our family. Some of it is for his b-day too which is 2 weeks before xmas. But he has a sit n spin, easel, kitchen, books, chuck the talking truck and some other odds and ends. I put away a lot of toys and bring them out throughout the year since his bday and xmas are so close he really only gets toys once a year.
Does your DS have a grocery cart or the bubble lawn mower to push around, DS loves both of those?
Most likely a chair. She loves her cousin's chair and right now sits in her bumbo to 'read' her books. She's 14 months old so I don't imagine she'll fit in her bumbo for much longer.
This is her list of things. Some things we are getting and some other family members are getting:
Play kitchen
Shopping cart/kitchen accessories
Bean bag
Easel
Ball pit
Books/puzzles
DH and I are getting the kitchen and then we will get a couple of little gifts to wrap and put under the tree (probably just some of the buy one get one deals on FP, Playskool, etc. during Black Friday).
So far he has an indoor/outdoor tent with a pop up tunnel that connects. I want to get him the 3-1 trike and a few other things that he doesn't get for his birthday. His birthday is this weekend and I made him a TRU wish list so I can keep up with what I want to get him between now and then.
We are turning our extra bedroom into DD's big girl room for Christmas. So she's going to be getting a new bed, dresser, and other furniture. We will probably get her a few new toys (I plan on donating quite a few of her old "outgrown" toys to a local women's shelter so they can have Christmas gifts, too). Other than that, we probalby won't get her too much. Maybe some clothes.
I bought/am buying DS three baskets of play food, a shopping cart, and a cash register. My mom is buying him a play kitchen and my sister is buying him a table and chairs.
A toy vacuum and books. He doesn't really need any toys. I know my Mom got him alphabet, numbers, shapes, and colors flash cards and the teddy bear that has the button, zipper, velcro, shoe laces, etc. If anything else, I'll get him some clothes.
I had this whole list, but then I looked at C's age. I'd ditto the PP who suggested a shopping cart and/or bubble mower for a few months down the road. Those were THE hits of the summer for us. As was Elmo Live, so you could do that one pretty cheap on Ebay or do the new Elmo Live Encore.
I think we're going to get her a play kitchen. That will be her only gift from us, aside from stocking stuffers. I don't really know what the rest of the family is planning- but I'm sure our house will be full!
From us he's getting kitchen themed everything- the Melissa and Doug metal shopping cart (it is SO cute), Little Tikes Deluxe Wooden Kitchen, and 4 sets of Melissa and Doug play food. My mom is getting him a power wheels type thing, some cars with a racetrack...I don't know what else. My suggestions for MIL were an easel, table and chairs, cash register, and a play keyboard.
Probably nothing. We'll do a college fund contribution, then get him whatever gifts we feel like he should ahve (some specific books, maybe a PBK anywhere chair) if his grandparents don't spoil him with them.
My mom got DD one of those for her birthday -- she loves to play with it while I'm cooking!
So far, my parents are getting DD a play tent/tunnel and an easel, MIL/FIL are getting her a kitchen set with accessories...and I'm not sure what we're getting. A couple of puzzles, some drawing/coloring supplies, one of those big squishy cars she can push around and maybe a couple of other things. DH wants to get her a toddler basketball hoop, but I'm trying to talk him out of it for now -- we just don't have the room with the new big toys coming in from her grandparents!
DS' cousin is giving him a big play kitchen that he loves so Im going to get him some wooden melissa & doug play food, a shopping cart, Elmo potto dvd, big brother book and a boy baby doll (I heard it helps them understand how to be gentle with a new baby if you are expecting)
Re: What are you getting LO for Christmas?
his big present will be a two sided easel
and then we'll get him a few smaller things
DMoney will be a kickass big sister
We're going to do the Land of Nod version of the PBK anywhere chair.
DS sits on everything like it's a chair, so we're thinking that he'll love having his own chair to sit in!
Plus we're going to get him a bunch of other little things that we know he'll like.
This is our holiday gift list.
Hanukkah- little tikes 3in1trike and some individual little people on the other nights of hannukah
christmas- little people tractor, FP racing ramps car garage, geo trax zoo (for when he is a little older.)
A play kitchen (she may be too young to do much with it at first, but it's something she can grow into over the next year)
Melissa & Doug puzzles
Books
And this thing... https://www.amazon.com/LeapFrog-Fridge-Farm-Magnetic-Animal/dp/B0001X0DR6
Elmo Live Encore
Tool Bench
Play Kitchen
FP Firetruck powerwheels.
Also, my mom never send gifts, just money towards gifts.
