If you will or have gotten your LO the H1N1 vaccine...

...did it contain thimerisol? Our pedi got another shipment, but it contains thimerisol. I've been reluctant to get her the vaccine, but she got the seasonal one and Dr. Sears says the H1N1 vaccine is no different (just a different strain). The fact that this shipment contains thimerisol makes me even more reluctant, but I don't know what's worse. They said they are not sure if they will be getting any more shipments after this. I've been trying to call pedi all morning, but of course you can't get through. I know there are plenty of you who will not give your LO the vaccine in general, but just wondering how many of you would give the one with thimerisol, if it was the only one available.

My DD got the one with therm, but DS had one from an earlier shipment that did not have it.

My pedi said that the risks of 1 shot with it are very very minor, and in her case (being in daycare, etc) he felt she should really get it.

It was only available to us with thimerosal as well. After reading up on the research and talking to our pedi, we decided to get the vaccine anyway. It will be the only vaccine he gets with it since the majority of vaccines for LOs under age 6 removed mercury already.

I have my 7 month old daughter scheduled for one with thimerisol this afternoon. It makes me nervous, but she is also in daycare so I know the risk of her getting h1n1 is pretty high. I'm definitely going to check with the doctor first.

Our area hasn't received any H1N1 vaccines without thimerosal, and DS has had one dose so far. The first dose of regular flu vaccine he received was not thimerosal-free either. I'm not worried. The amount of mercury in one flu shot is teeny tiny; a glass of water from the tap or a serving of tuna from the can contain way, way more mercury than flu shots.
