So, I got an email from thebump telling me that I need to find a childbirth class as I am entering my 20th week.
I have already looked up the options available through my ob/gyn practice, Harvard Vanguard, and at the South Shore Hospital. They're fine but I'd like to consider all types of classes before settling for the ones the hospitals offer.
Does anyone recommend any OTHER places to visit/talk to before deciding on what kind of class to take?
What do you think of the ones offered by hospitals/practices?
This is totally foreign territory, so any advice is welcome!
Re: Childbirth classes on South Shore?
My husband and I took the childbirth classes offered at South Shore Hospital. We also took the breastfeeding class and the newborn safety class. We thought they were very good and we both felt extremely comfortable going into the birthing process and parenthood with the information they gave us. My husband never had any experience with newborns prior to this, so he was nervous about us having a child and what to do. He said he felt like the classes really helped him to feel better about having our baby. I also felt the same. I don't know of any other classes in the area, but I would recommend the classes at the hospital.
Good luck!
We took almost all the classes at South Shore Hospital and I really liked them. Though I do have to say we didn't use anything we learned in the class, it really brought the experience to life for my husband and I because it gave him a chance to be part of everything. ?We took infant CPR at Isis Maternity in Arlington and it was the best class ever!!!
Good luck!?
Wow---great recommendations!
Thanks for the input everyone!!!
