Hershey Med Center RE

hi everyone, I have never posted on the local board before, but I post on the IF board a lot. I have my first RE consultation at Hershey Med Center tomorrow and I was just wondering if anyone here has worked with them before? They didn't tell me which Dr specifically I would be working with, but if anyone has gone there before I would love if you could tell me what to expect at my first consultation. TIA!

I delivered at Hershey and have dealt with Woman's Health for awhile now, but have not seen the RE. I just wanted to wish you luck and hope everything goes well.

I went to Hershey for my IF treatments. Our initial consultation was with Dr. Dodson. I had already had some testing done through my OB and tried clomid unmonitored (wouldn't recommend it that way) so we started by reviewing those results. Then he sent me for more tests, more blood work. He also sent my DH for a SA. The next appt we reviewed those results. Blood work showed that PCOS was likely my issue so I had an u/s done and he showed me cysts surrounding my ovaries confirming PCOS.

I really hope your appt goes well. I found Dr. Dodson to be to the point and I wasn't a fan at first b/c I'm sensitive, but during treatments I trusted his opinion the most. He knows what he's doing! During treatments I was in a few times a week for monitoring so I got to know all of the doctors except Dr. Legro b/c I only saw him once. My favorites were Dodson and Gnatuk. Joni, the nurse, is also FANTASTIC!

I didn't go to Hershey, but went the RE route. I just wanted to say good luck!!! Keep us posted and if you need anything, there are a few girls on here that are dealing with or have dealt with IF.

Thanks for the info. I did end up seeing Dr. Dodson, and was not a fan. He was kinda weird and way too cold for me. He told me he wouldn't treat me until I lost 50 pounds, so I ended up breaking down in his office... and on the way home. Set a new appt with the RE office in York in 2 weeks. Hopefully they won't mind working with me while I lose the weight.

Are in going to see Dr Filer in York? If so I've heard alot of good things about him, although he is apparently very straight forward and will only take a hand ful of patients at a time.

I don't have any experience with Hershey, however we did just start seeing an RE in September. Just wanted to say Hi and wish you well with your appt.

I had a very close friend that had the exact same experience with the same Doctor. He told her he wouldn't do anything for her til she lost weight.

She left too...ended up at a practice in Lehigh. She is now expecting.
