ChrisnTris, and anyone else who knows about the 2 visitor policy...

Can you explain a little bit more about St V's visitor policy with all of this flu stuff going around?

My doctor said two designated people are allowed up at the hospital. Does that need to be the same two people for the whole stay, or just 2 people at a time coming up to the room? My sister and friends were joking that they would set up a tailgate party in the parking lot and all take turns!

Of course I have a while to go, but I do expect the policy to still be in place in Jan or Feb. Thanks for your help!

  • 3 of my friends are delivering in the next 2 months and no matter the hospital they were all told the same thing...they could have 2 people with them in delivery but after that no visitors (dad isn't a visitor, but he does count as on of the 2 allowed in delivery) and no one under the age of 18 is allowed at all.  Oh and the nurseries are closed so the option of having them out of the room for the night isn't there at all

  • I don't know the specifics, but call St V's L&D, they will answer your questions!

  • I REALLY hope this is lifted by February.  I will be SO sad if I can't have any visitors.  Anyone know if this is the same policy at Good Sam?  That is where we are delivering...
  • I know, I would be way bummed too. Last I heard Kaiser Sunnyside was the only area hospital that did not have this rule in place. This was a week or so ago. I'm sure they will add it soon as more people are getting sick.

  • Hey sorry I just saw this....the staff is pretty confused about the visitor policy I think, they enforce it differently in LD and PP....since I'm on maternity leave right now, I really have no idea how they are enforcing it.  Call St V's 216-1234 and ask for maternity.....they will transfer you to LD and you can ask. :)

I'm delivering at Good Sam.  Legacy's policy is 2 visitors the entire time you are there -- dad does not count.  The two visitors have to be the same two people and cannot be under 18.  So if you want your mom and sister to come visit you, they are the only two people who can come the entire time you are at the hospital.  Obviously both people have to be healthy as well.

  • I work at Good Sam and the way I understand it is that your husband does count as one of your support people. So you can have your husband and only one other support person the entire time. They are very strict about it. I had to be monitored the other day and they wouldn't let any of my co-workers see me even though they work there. They said they could talk to me on the phone. I think they even give your two support people name bands that match yours. I am having my husband and my mother-in-law and am really bummed that my sister-in-law can't come at all.
