My ER and ET for my first IVF are at the end of November. I was wondering how much time I should take off work for it? The RE is hoping to do a 5dt. I'm a high school teacher. In the past years I have hardly taken any sick time off work so I have plenty of sick days banked.

Re: How much time off work will I need?
For your ER I would say the day of ER and the day after.
For ET - it will totally depend on your REs bedrest policy. I only had day of ET bedrest so I would have been able to go back to work the next day. My ER was on a Thursday and we had Friday off so I didn't have to go back for several days. But, extended time isn't necessary.
It depends on your Dr and how you feel after the ER.
For my 1st IVF, I took the day of ER off and the day of ET and the day after, per my RE instructions.
For the next IVF, I will take the day of ER and day after off because I was still sore the next day and it was very uncomfortable for me to move around. I will just take the day of the ET off - my new RE does not believe that you need 48h bedrest after ET.
I'm a high school teacher too. (Hello!)
My RE said to take the day of ER and ET off, and then day after ET off too. For me, it occured over summer hols so it wasn't an issue, but that was my RE's protocol.
I would check with your RE's office to see what they want you to do .
