Babies on the Brain

I have a feeling I am speaking too soon.

I have not felt sick at all today.  I went running, cleaned the kitchen, and I am about to settle in to do some homework.

No vomiting or urge to vomit.

Unfortunately I think it is tied to the fact I haven't taken a pre-natal vitamin since Friday AM.  I think I need to switch to the Flinstone gummies.

  • I handle them much better when I take them at night. It also got better when I switched to the One A Day brand

  • 1. Flintstones rock as prenatals.

    2. I said the same thing at 6 weeks.  6 weeks 1 day though, I woke up feeling awful and it just got worse and worse for over 2 months.  Ugh.  I hope you manage to miss out on all that fun.

I have One A Day and no matter what time of day I take them they make me want to vomit.  I have always struggled with that brand...even when I was taking just the plain Woman's vitamin.

Bummer. The only thing is the pill that smells like fish grosses me out.

  • Just around when I was 6 weeks my prenatals were making me really sick I think I skilled them like 4 days in a row, I had to swallow flintstones because even those made me barfy...

I had good days and bad days, but around 10-11 weeks I started feeing much better.

  • I've been puking since the day before my BFP but for some reason prenatals haven't so much bothered me (or maybe they have, but everything else has bothered me more so I haven't noticed). Anyways I have had good luck taking them at bed time with a gingerale - either the Target brand or the NatureMade with DHA in it. I hope you avoid m/s altogether somehow!
  • It hit me at 8 weeks and holy lord it was awful. It stuck around until about 20 weeks and still gets me some days. I hope it skips you!

I've had it pretty bad for almost 3 weeks non-stop.  This is the first day I have felt normal during my run.  I'm hoping it stays this way.  I've completely cut out sweets, just ran out and bought the Flinstones gummies, and I am going to cut out all beverages but milk and water...and my AM cup of coffee.

Luckily I am having a huge food aversion to any sweet food, so I've been eating very healthy.  I am wondering if that is helping.

  • I'm sure eating healthy helps - I know in 1st tri I couldn't eat any sweets either from the m/s. But the one thing that I could not cut out was ginger ale - without it I don't think I would be able to eat still lol. Kind of ridiculous since I will be in 3rd tri in a few days.
  • Just an FYI- the flintstone gummies don't have any calcium or iron. So you will like still want to take a supplement with those. I used the gummies and supplements for my worst month of morning sickness.

The flintstone chewables do have the iron and calcium.

I'm not worried about calcium as I am a dairy product whore.  Iron...maybe concerned.  I'll decide after I meet with my dr next week for my ultrasound.

    Thanks for the head's up!

No problem. I didn't realize it right away when I started taking mine and figured it could be easily overlooked.

And I don't know why I put the random "like" into my prior comment. I don't normally type in valley girl speak.
