Even when my baby is sick and teething. Even when I have a 5 month old who isn't sleeping longer than 2.5 hours. Even when I can't leave the house for more than 2 hours without him (for a multitude of reasons I won't go in to.) Even though it is really nothing like I thought it would be and I feel like I spend a lot of my time here complaining and trying to change things, I absolutely LOVE being a mom. I love being HIS mom. Some days I realize that I am the luckiest person in the world. I just can't believe my good fortune. Can't believe that I've been blessed enough not to just know my child, but to have him depend on me, laugh at me, rest his sad little head on my shoulder. How could I be so lucky that HE could love ME?

Life is beautiful!
"When it comes to sleeping, whatever your baby does is normal. If one thing has damaged parents enjoyment of their babies, it's rigid expectations about how and when the baby should sleep." ~ James McKenna, Ph.D., Mother Baby Behavioral Sleep Center, University of Notre Dame

made me all weepy!
'sha. Ditto ;-)
I was walking down the street tonite, in the dark, just me and Ava, to a couple neighbors for tricks and treats. She's shuffling in her tentacles, and I'm just looking around at the moon, etc. She looks up at me, I look at her, and she just has this look on her face like "I am really enjoying this very uncharacteristic late-night walk with you mum. We should do it again sometime."
And I'm like...
'You bet."
and it even gets better and better every day... nothing like the feeling of complete wonder I feel when Ethan sees me and says Mama!! or when he flings himself at my legs and holds on...
I have said it before and I am sure I will always say it, but I see the grace of God whenever I see my child...

Well said!!!!!!!
awww, yup we are lucky to have our LOs. Mine is still 'needy' of me every 2 hrs and if I leave him at night - he will stay up all night waiting for me to put him to bed. I totally know how you feel.
But he is the best thing that ever happened to me! Sorry didn't mean to turn this around, but I totally agree with you!
sigh all you want!
