DREFT Baby Products - - - - like? dislike?

My Best Friend swears by Dreft detergent. It's the only thing she washed her sons' clothes in 25 years ago.

I went to the store today and smelled it and OMG, I can't stand the smell!!!

It literally caused a very radical ill reaction when I smelled the stuff. It was a 2nd note of whatever the scent was.

No way can I use it.

Anyone else hate the smell of DREFT? How does it work on baby clothes?

I think I'm sticking with my ORGANIC detergent or Free & Clear.

I do not like it. It is full of chemicals and fragrances. It seems very newborn unfriendly in my opinion. I know most people seem to use the regular detergents free version. I use Tide free. My husband and I have very dry and sensitive skin. Tide free has been great for us.

I am only using All free/clear. No sense in buying expensive detergent that stinks!

Yuck, I am not a fan. The smell is so strong. I usesd All for babies which is not unscented but to me its not as strong as Dreft.

I used it the first month or so with DS- didn't really phase me, but this time around I'm using All Free and Clear- much cheaper.

We already use All Free and Clear, so we'll keep doing that for LO's clothes too. We use scented Downy though, so we might have to switch to unscented.

I absolutely detest the smell of Dreft. We have used All Free and Clear to wash all the baby things in so far.

I work in dermatology and the free & clear products are all we recommend for infants anyway. Dreft has too many chemicals.

Dreft is way too perfumed for me. If you are looking for a good non-perfumed/non-chemical detergent I recommend doing a search for cloth diaper detergent. Here is a sight that I found

I actually like the smell, but I don't see any reason to spend so much money on detergent. I get the generic version from our grocery store. But now that I'm seeing everyone's recs about All, I think I'll try that!

I'm also trying to find a NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS detergent but that's been difficult.

Not a big fan either. I bought Ecos from Costco which smells great and is organic too, no dyes or scents.
