Had a Laparoscopy

On Wednesday I had Laparoscopic surgery and found out that I have a sever case of endometriosis that is blocking my filopian tubes.  We have been trying to concieve for a year now and I am fully discouraged.  Any advice or experience would be a big help.  I meet with my doctor on Tuesday and I guess she will refer me to a fertility specialist.  My sister-in-law mentioned In Vitro so I am going to begin my research.  Help!

Re: Had a Laparoscopy

  • I would suggest posting this on the IF board too if you haven't already.  Those ladies have a ton of knowledge/support too.

No experience there, but I know several women on this board also have a lot of great info.  Good luck!

  • Hi. I recommend Jennifer Thie in Blue Ash. I have endometriosis (and other issues) and we tried for years to get pregnant before seeing Dr. Thie. She was able to do the trick, and we have a 15 month old son (and we hope to go back to Dr. Thie next year and try for a second).

Best of luck, and message me if you need more specific info!

  • Sorry you are going through all of this. I don't have endo but my best advice is to go to an RE.  They will help to determine what is the best treatment to help you.  I know other ladies who have had endo that did not need to use IVF.  I see Dr. Scheiber at the Institute for Reproductive Health.  Let me know if you need any more information. GL!

  • I had a laparoscopy and they found stage II endo and removed it.  Were they able to remove the endo that was blocking your tubes? My RE seems hopeful that I can get pregnant with IUI, and will not need to go to IVF. I go to Dr. Chin in Fairfield.  He has the best nursing staff I have EVER MET!
