Grrr...Target

I called a nearby Target store to see if they had the crib and changing table that I wanted.  They assured me that they did in fact have the crib in stock, and they would put them aside for me.  My DH and I got there only to find out that they actually had neither item in stock.   Angry  I went to buy it online, and they charged an insane amount for shipping!  PLUS my registry isn't coming up unless you enter my e-mail address.  I know it's worked before.   I know they're the better of our basic retail outlets, but their customer service (and return policies) suck!

Dear Target,

I hope Babies R' Us will send you a Thank You note for all the business you've sent their way.  I'm not buying any baby crap from you.

Signed,

Anne

  • I love target. With that said their customer service has taken a nose dive over the past few years and been replaced with fancy desginer looking food, and starbucks.

I also hate their return policy as they treat you like criminals. I have heard them ask people if they bought this item knowing they would return it!

  • I totally share your frustration with Target shipping, it's insane. I bought my SIL a pack n play off her registry (it was $150-ish) and shipping was somewhere around $40. Seriously? I am already spending quite a bit. I swear a ton of places online have free or at least cheap shipping, WTF? It pisses me off and makes me not want to register there at all. I'm still debating.

  • I know you feel!  I normally LOVE Target but ever since mine went "Super Size" we have had problems.  My husby and I went shopping recently and he had a question about an ironing board, spacifically the price, none was posted.  He asked about 5 people and they all said the same thing when he went up to them "sorry me no speak english" and walked of.  Not even the CASHIER spoke english she needed a translator from 3 isles over to help us and even then it was not pretty.  Now I am all for equality in the work place but if you are in CUSTOMER SERVICE you should at least know the language of the people you are serving!  How can you do your job if you can't understand the questions of your customer?
  • We just went through crap with a Target store in our area. We found a pack-n-play that my mom wanted for her house instead of a crib. Online it said it was normally $189 but was on sale for $125. When we went to the store to get it, they rang it up and it came up for regular price. We asked the cashier about it, who ended up having to get a manager, who then informed us that they dont have the same prices as Target.com, and wont price match either. WTF? Its the same company!!! So needless to say we didnt get it and will probably be getting one from BRU instead(just like we did with my stroller!). Target just doesn't understand customer service!

  • I think that every store that has an online version does that. Because I found a travel system at Wally World.com. And because I wanted it now, I went to see if it was in the store. I found it in the store, but I looked at the price on the shelf, it was about $30 more than online. So, I went to the Customer Service desk. And they said that do not price match anything found online. WTF!!! So, it's happening everywhere.
