Is there a difference (i.e. does hearing it mean it's that much stronger)? We've seen it at our last 2 ultrasounds (at 6w2d and 7w6d) but the technicians never mentioned hearing anything... does it depend on the u/s machine? Or can you not hear anything that early?

Re: Seeing vs. Hearing heartbeat
They used the doppler to hear the HB with me. Not sure if the u/s picks up the HB noise or not??? Sorry.
At my 9 wk they couldn't pick anything up with the doppler. No worries, I have an inverted uterus could be awhile before LO decides to cooperate
We were able to do it with the u/s but I think it was about 10 weeks.
I think it is just too early.
this. its not the same as the doppler detecting it, its not the actual hb you are hearing from my understanding. Either way its cool!
most US machines dopplers are very powerful and can possibly damage the baby so they usually wait until later to use the US machine to listen. It is possible to listen with most, but due to the fact that they have pretty powerful dopplers ( for ruling out DVT's and such) it's better safe than sorry with listening to your baby!
