DD is almost a year, and I know we will be cutting out formula very soon (which makes me happy). She still shows no interest in a cup, and she only eats yogurt and cheese. Tonight I tried melted cheese on a bread, and she threw it all on the floor. She then happily ate the pieces of cheese I gave her. Occasionally, she eats some cereal and pureed fruit, and twice she ate peas. She will eat no canned fruit or other veggie, and she wouldn't even eat a pancake with fuit spread.
So tell me, what do I do when she turns 1 and won't eat any food? Right now I'm not too concerned because she's getting the nutrients of formula. That's going to stop in about 6 weeks. Anyone else have this problem? What are you doing about food?
Re: Serious food/weaning question
DS is 13.5 months old and other than baby food will only eat cream of wheat and pasta. He's still eating a decent amount of baby food because he'll eat a good amount insteaed of only a few bites and I worry about how much he's eating (or rather not eating).
I was concerned at his 12 month visit, but his pediatrician wasn't concerned. She said some kids just take longer to make the transition and her 16 month old was still eating some baby food. Because he doesn't really eat a variety, other than in jarred baby food, we decided to keep him on formula/BM past a year. He still drinks formula bottles a few times a day and I'm still BFing too.
