I really hate being called "the mean nurse" by a baby's parents/grandparents/loved ones. If you sign the consent for the vaccine, I have to give your baby a shot. I have to listen to it's heart. I have to take it's temperature. Your baby is going to cry no matter what because it doesn't have any other way to respond to it's new environment. It does not equate to me being MEAN. I'm nice! I love babies! I bet your baby will cry when you change it's diaper too! That doesn't equate to you being a mean mommy.
Sigh. Just doing my job people.
Re: I am NOT the mean nurse!!
If only a response would not get you in trouble....
"Are you sure that the person who signed the consent form isn't the 'mean' one??"
Haha. I wish.

Um.. there is a difference in what you do.. and being a "mean" nurse... I'd say you're far from mean!?
Amen!
I also love when parents tell their kids who aren't getting shots "be good or I'll make the nurse give you a shot". Yeah, that's super helpful, make the kid scared of nurses, awesome.
