Do you loosen the shoulder straps on the convert. carseat each time you take DC out of the car and then tighten them again when you put DC back into the carseat?
Or
Do you just leave the straps tight and struggle to get DC back into the carseat each time?

Damn! I hate when DH is right!

Leave them - I think it would be more of a pain to loosen them every time and then tighten. I'm not even sure how I would loosen it without unhooking the seat altogether.
It really isn't that big of an issue to get him in with it being tightened up - obviously every once in awhile we have to loosen it as he grows.
Haha, I had a feeling you wouldn't like my answer.
This doesn't mean that your DH is 'right' just means he might be in the majority. The right thing to do MIGHT be to loosen and re-tighten each time but that doesn't mean that we all do it that way. lol
Just a quick note for those who said they only loosen the straps when their LO is wearing a jacket:
Heavy jackets can compress in a crash which will then make the straps too loose, so it's safest not to use them in the car seat. If you have to loosen the straps to buckle with a jacket, then you know the jacket is too thick. You can use a fleece jacket (LL Bean and Lands End have nice ones) for the carseat and then you can put a blanket or their thick jacket on them backwards.
Ditto. Normally she's in the same amount of clothes so why would I loosen and then re-tighten to the exact same spot?
I loosen and then tighten. It's easier especially in this weather when some days requires a jacket or sweater and some days don't.
Either way, there is no "right" way. You do what works for you and have DH do what works for him!

I loosen and tighten each time, in both of his car seats (my car and DH's).
