I got a lovely Didy Red Waves today (thank you Ncbelle - I love it!) but I have a question about tying it. How safe is it to tie in the tapers? I've tried all sorts of carries this morning and early afternoon and it seems like today anyway DD really only likes the Kangaroo front carry but either I'm not getting it tight enough or I'm fluffier than I believe myself to be because I can only eek it out and tie it in the tapers (it's a size 3/3.2 m). We're going to a Halloween party tonight and I want to be able to wear her in a two shoulder carry because last night I wore her for several hours in a ring sling and ouch...

I just saw your post on TBW - glad the waves arrived safely.
I tie in the tapers. The only problem you might have is that over time, the rail that's not in the knot might get loose and you'd have to readjust. But it's not a problem if you get the carry nice and tight. You can also get a little more length if you get her up higher - now that kiddo is taller, his head is right in front of me when I kangaroo.
I hear ya on needing a two shoulder carry - I never know if the discomfort I get over time is because I suck at getting them right or if they just aren't as comfy for long periods. I do like rebozo for quick errands though.
I noticed that about the one rail getting looser and that's what made me worry. But she definitely didn't feel like she was in danger of tumbling out. I also realized that I'm not supposed to be able to kangaroo in this length anyway. Which makes sense...I think that means I "need" a 4 right?

But I do think if you like wearing, it makes total sense to have multiple carriers for different situations - I like different length wraps for different carries/situations.
Of course that logic doesn't really explain why I have multiple wraps in the same length!
