Babies: 9 - 12 Months

when did your LO give up paci?

Just curious. Did LO give up the binky on their own or did you take it away?

Corinna LOVED her binky for a few months but has pretty much given it up. I only give it to her sometimes if she squirms a little when I lay her down to sleep, and she usually doesn't keep it in for long.??

  • I took it away when he started waking up a million times to find it when it would fall out of his mouth.  It was keeping both of us awake all night.

He went from total paci obsession to completely forgetting about it in like a day - it really wasn't too hard to get rid of it.  GL.

  • My DS#1 LOVED his paci we had to take it away at 19 months.. our DS#2 didn't want a paci until about 5 months old then he didn't want it anymore so for about a month now he has not wanted it so i'm just not offerin it anymore as it was a nightmare taking away DS#1's i wasout just let him forget about as i have read they really don't need it after 6 months so if you wanted it to be gone i would just let it be gone now before he gets attached again.. Your LO is SOOO cute! I love love love her bunny outfit! ?

  • J gave his up at around 3.5 months. I still keep them around and one in his crib at night so if he's teething maybe he'll grab it on his own.
  • Both of mine lost interest around 3 months..

This exactly. We took it away around 4 months and never looked back!

  • He lost all interest in it when he found his thumb. I think he was just under 4 months.
  • I think at about 7 monts, DD gave it up on her own. she just uses her 'lovie' to go to sleep

  • DS still uses it when he goes to sleep.  I don't want to take it away right now, I think it will be too tough, and he only uses it at night. we'll see.
