Baby Names

Need girl names..

So I like unique, uncommon, and interesting names...

I don't want anything too traditional, but not too out there either

some that I really like now (whether DH does or not) are

Sloane, Harper, Reese, Brielle, Genevieve,

Middle name will most likely be Ann, unless it doesn't flow right...but it will start with an A.

 please help, thank you.

  • I love Sloane and you rarely hear it! I also like Brielle. Harper is becoming very popular, so I'd avoid that if you like uncommon. I've seen Genevieve a bit lately too.

Brielle Ann or Brielle Alexandra would be good.

Sloane needs a longer mn. Sloane Alexandra, Sloane Arielle, Sloan Aurora, etc.

  • I agree- Sloane Ann just doesn't flow well. I love the name Sloane though. Some other thoughts (though maybe don't go with Ann?) What about Ruby, London, Geneva, Cora, Scarlett, Arden, Daphne, Vada or Francesca?

  • Well, it depends by what you mean by unique, uncommon and interesting.  All the names you mentioned are super popular in the under-5 set, so IMHO, they've ceased to be unique, uncommon and interesting.

  • Love Sloane--I would definitely use that!

    I also like Brynn.

Another of my new favorites is Kenley.

    I absolutely love Harper

  • I love Sloane and Harper.  If you want to check out the popularity of a name, take a look here:

    https://www.socialsecurity.gov/OACT/babynames/

There is a list of the most popular names, but you can also enter any name and find out where it falls (within the top 1000 names).  There is also a spot where you can see the top 100 names of your state.

  • Oh, and I disagree with pp, I think Sloane Ann works!

I agree. With Genevieve being the exception, they are all very trendy too.

  • ok well you have to take into account I live in ND these names are "weird" here and are very uncommon...so yeah.

but thanks for the suggestions. I agree with Sloane - it doesn't go with Ann very well, for that one I really like Sloane Addison, I just need to persuade DH. :)

  • LOVE Sloane and Harper.  Harper Anne (I like Anne with an "e" because that's my middle name!) sounds great! Don't love Sloane Anne as much.  Other names that might be your style: Piper, Delaney, Riley, Ainsley, Kendall.
