2nd Trimester

Called my doctors office...

and they told me to just keep an eye on my temperature to see if i develop a fever, and too just treat it as a cold for now. So my question is, what is considered a fever? My temp has been between 99.1 and 99.3

Re: Called my doctors office...

  • I would call back and ask for a temp from them.  I'd say fever at 100.

  • I would consider that a very low grade fever.  I dont categorize anything as a fever unless it is over 100.

  • I think it's like 102 or 104 before it's actually 'dangerous' for the baby.  If it starts to get close get in a COLD bath and call the doctor to find out what the next step is.

My fever was 103 when I was in labor with DS1.  They put me on a cooling blanket (kept at 62 degreese), that was fun!  My fever was completely uncontrollable for 8 hours, they let me continue to labor (because that was what we wanted) and DS is a charming, healthy, normal boy.

I've heard anything over 100.4 lasting for more than... 4 hours, (I think?) is dangerous for baby.
